Overview

The Certificate III in Construction Waterproofing provides a trade certificate in waterproofing for the residential and commercial construction industry. In this course, you will gain an understanding of waterproofing standards and best industry practices.<br>However, you will also learn how to apply internal waterproofing and various remedial processes to fix faulty/defective waterproofing.<p>Delivery and assessment will be in a simulated environment covering all aspects of the waterproofing industry. The program is best suited to those already working in construction, experienced tradespersons, builders and architects and anyone responsible for the prevention of water ingress to a building.

Studying the Certificate III in Construction Waterproofing at Holmesglen

You will learn to prepare surfaces for waterproofing. You will also learn about waterproofing tools, equipment, processes, products, and different techniques used in the waterproofing industry.<p>Furthermore, you will learn how to apply waterproofing in a variety of internal and external settings, such as balconies, roof gardens, below ground, and also remedial processes.<p>Teaching and assessment will be in a simulated environment covering all aspects of the waterproofing industry.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible, students must be at least 22 years old and have worked in the industry for at least 2 years.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Additional Course Cost

Learners will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when undertaking practical activities. The personal protective equipment and course materials students will be required to supply are: <br>Safety boots <br>Work pants and Work shirt <br>Safety glasses <br>Safety gloves (when handling building materials) <br>Earmuffs/ear plugs for ear protection <br>Dust respirator to P2/P3 - Mandatory <br>Standard Knee pads <br> <br>Notebook, HB Pencil, blue or black pen, eraser, calculator <br>Access to a computer or Laptop at home, Earphone/headset for computer work <br>BYO Device-Laptop $400 <br>The total cost of these items is between $700 - $900 <br>If additional safety equipment is required, it will be supplied by the Institute.
