Studying the Certificate III in Sports Turf Management at Holmesglen

You will learn skills in the establishment and maintenance of recreational turf, the preparation of sports playing surfaces, and the management of recreational and sports turf facilities.<p>You will also learn how to provide advice on turf irrigation, pest and disease control, and management practices.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.<p>Applicants must have been working in the sports turf management industry for a minimum of three years.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs. All applicants are interviewed for selection by the Education Manager.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. <strong>Timetable</strong><br>Classes run one night per week, on a Tuesday from 4pm-8pm.<p>To receive this qualification you must complete:<br>18 core units;<br>5 elective units.<p>Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff. If you have already completed other eligible units, these may be counted towards completion of your qualification.
