Overview

The Diploma of Horticulture provides a tailored learning path for individuals new to the horticulture industry, emphasising practical and theoretical skill acquisition. It also caters to those seeking horticulture employment, aspiring or current horticulture business owners requiring expertise in technical, economic, and managerial problem-solving, and professionals in landscaping or parks and gardens seeking skill enhancement. <p><strong>Please note that this course is being taught out and will not be offered from July 2024 onwards.</strong>

Studying the Diploma of Horticulture at Holmesglen

You will be trained in a range of higher level technical skills, applicable across the breadth of the horticulture industry.<p>You will build your knowledge and abilities to design and implement special plant displays. You will develop your ability to consult on plant selection and landscape solutions for domestic and commercial situations.

Entry Requirements

International learners will be required to complete an IELTS assessment, with the result being their English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.0 for entry into the course. They will also be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment via Holmesglen's BKSB online testing program prior to commencement of the course.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Assessment

Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.

An additional administration fee may apply where the application is submitted directly to Holmesglen and not through a Holmesglen-approved education agent.
