Studying the Certificate III in Hospitality at Holmesglen

The course is taught through a blend of classroom and practical training at Holmesglen's student training restaurant Zest, located at the Glen Waverley campus. <p>Students will use current industry tools, equipment, documents and other resources which play an essential role in skills development to produce graduates that are industry ready. <p>Through practical restaurant sessions, you will learn to work with independence and under limited supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities. You will graduate with a range of well-developed hospitality skills such as coffee making, customer service, food and beverage service, bar attending and hygiene and safety. These skills are highly sought-after by industry and will position you to step directly into employment. <p>Holmesglen offers CV writing and interview workshops to students to assist with their transition into employment.

Entry Requirements

Direct entry is permitted for all qualifications within the SIT Hospitality Training Package. Learners have the opportunity to enrol in these qualifications without the necessity of prior experience.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
