Apprenticeship fees and funding

Learn more about fees and funding for apprenticeship courses at Holmesglen.

Fees for Holmesglen apprenticeship courses are displayed on individual course pages and are indicative only.

Everyone's personal circumstances are different - and this can affect what you pay for your chosen course at Holmesglen.

  • The course fee that you will pay will depend on whether you are:
  • Enrolling in a VET or Higher Education course
  • Eligible for a government-subsidised place (for VET courses)
  • A local or international student.

Your course fee is made up of:

  • The tuition fee for the course
  • Material and ancillary fees relating directly to your course, and
  • Miscellaneous fees and charges.

Material and other ancillary fees may include excursions, uniforms, equipment and/or other related fees. The course pages outline the tuition fees payable for each course. Information on material and ancillary fees and miscellaneous fees and charges can be found under the material fees section of this page.

Vocational Education and Training (VET) fees apply to courses at certificate, diploma, advanced diploma, graduate certificate and graduate diploma qualification levels.

Government-subsidised fees

Government-subsidised fees include varying levels of government subsidy and are available to you if you meet all eligibility criteria. Subsidised training services are provided to eligible individuals with funds made available by the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments.

Find out if you are eligible for government-subsidised training.

Concession fees

Concession fee rates are usually 20 per cent of the government-subsidised fee. They may be available to you if you hold a current healthcare or pension card - or are the dependent of a card holder - and meet all eligibility criteria.

Full course fees

The full fee will be applicable if you do not meet the eligibility criteria OR are an international student. A full fee is also applicable if a course is non-accredited - i.e., doesn't include nationally recognised units.

VET pre-paid fee protection

Under the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 Schedule 6, requirements for protecting fees prepaid by individual learners, or prospective learners, for services, Holmesglen Institute, as a Government Entity, has implemented a policy addressing learner fee protection arrangements.

This policy details how, if Holmesglen Institute is unable to provide services for which the learner has prepaid, the learner will:

  • Be placed into an equivalent course such that:
    • the new location is suitable to the learner; and
    • the learner receives the full services for which they have prepaid at no additional cost to the learner; or
  • Be paid a refund of any prepaid fees for services yet to be delivered above the threshold payment amount, that is prepaid fees for services more than a total of $1500.

Course related

Materials and activities fees are the actual costs of essential materials, equipment, activities and excursions that you will need to complete your course and are over and above the course fees and are not subject to concessions.

Additional costs may also apply for course consumable and other costs. These may include consumables such as learning resources, personal protective equipment/clothing and other costs such as immunisation costs, National Police Check and Working with Children Check for relevant courses.
