Secondary schools can partner with Holmesglen to provide Vocational Education and Training (VET) to their students.
This partnership allows your school to offer a wider curriculum, exposing students to more study pathways and future career opportunities.
All VET Delivered to Secondary Students programs are consistent with the National Skills Framework (NSF) as part of the VCE or VCAL certificates.
What students need to know:
- Delivery: Students attend weekly VET classes at Holmesglen during school terms.
- Qualifications: Holmesglen issues student qualifications and/or statements of attainment.
- Application forms: To enrol in a VET program, secondary schools can complete the VET Delivered to Secondary School Students programs application form (PDF 2.6MB). Applications must be submitted to vetis@holmesglen.edu.au . Please note that the 2025 application forms will be available for schools to download and prefill from Friday 30 August 2024.
- Dates: Applications for 2024 VETDSS courses have now closed, with all VETDSS programs commenced for this year and all students and schools progressing through their studies. Applications for 2025 will open on Monday 2 September 2024 and close on Friday 15 November 2024.
- Next steps: Where classes are filled you will be advised that your students have been placed on a waiting list. If your application is successful, the relevant Holmesglen department will contact your school with course details, including start dates, enrolment processes and timetable information. We will also send a contract to your school four weeks after classes begin, to be reviewed, signed and returned within two weeks of receipt.
On occasion, classes do not run if enrolment numbers are insufficient. We will inform your school as soon as possible if this occurs.
