Disability Transition Support Officer
Commencing in early July 2024, we will expand our support services for learners with disability.
Our Disability Transition Support Officer (DTSO) will provide personalised support for students with disability transitioning from secondary school (including from specialist schools and alternate education settings) to Holmesglen.
Working within a ‘team around the learner’ framework and alongside our Engagement and Support teams, the DTSO will provide valuable guidance during the first 90 days of your course.
We will collaborate closely with schools, families, and other Holmesglen support staff to help provide a smooth transition to your Holmesglen student journey.
The DTSO can guide the beginning of your TAFE course, by supporting you with:
- Enrolment assistance
- Study transition plans
- Wrap-around support
- Connection to other relevant Holmesglen student support services
The DTSO will also connect with secondary schools to develop an enhanced understanding of the TAFE environment and share transition best practice with the Victorian TAFE network.
If you’d like to find out more, please email disability.officer@holmesglen.edu.au or call 9564 1649.
