What is expected of students while on campus?
- Campuses are non-smoking except in permitted areas
- Obey car park signs and speed limits
- Bicycles and motorbikes must be parked in designated areas only
- Please consider disabled students or staff on campus, especially when driving
- Ball games are not permitted in carparks, on roads, walkways, courtyards or any area that is not specified for this use
- Always carry your student ID card on campus - students must be able to produce it on request.
Personal safety tips
- Report any criminal or suspicious behaviour
- Don’t leave belongings in unlocked lockers or share lockers
- Avoid carrying large sums of cash if possible
- Be aware of your surroundings
- Conceal valuable items when out in public
- Never leave bags, laptops or phones unattended
- Be aware of telephone or online scams, some of these specifically target international students.

A Safer Community at Holmesglen
The Safer Community team at Holmesglen is made up of Student Wellbeing employees. We offer advice, support, intervention and risk management for students who have experienced or witnessed inappropriate, concerning or threatening behaviour. We aim to identify problem behaviour early to lower risks to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others.
Inappropriate, concerning or threatening behaviour includes any behaviour that:
- Makes you feel threatened or unsafe in or out of the class environment
- Causes you concern about a person harming themselves or someone else
- Makes you feel uneasy or get the sense that something is not quite right
